HMI stands for Human Machine Interface and is a technology that allows the user to operate a machine using only a touch screen, compared to buttons.
Using a HMI enables a more seamless interaction with machinery, and permits many more functions to be made available to the user where otherwise many buttons may be required for the same functions.
HMIs are common in every day society, including bank machines, ticket machines and in take-away restaurants. This has allowed many companies to engage the consumer directly with computers, reducing the number of staff required while also making some processes more efficient.
Hanningfield is able to integrate HMI panels across our range of equipment, including conical mills and blenders. HMI panels enable password protected access to the machine, control of machine functions, and help with compliance to 21 CFR Part 11.
