Key Information
Don’t let blending be your bottleneck:
- Maximise productivity with ‘Blend-in-the-Bin’
- Enabling immediate batch switchover without wash down
- Charging and discharging can be undertaken offline
- Controls can be supplied to meet 21 CFR Part 11
- Supplied as pedestal (stand-alone), through-the-wall or post hoist mounted
Features & Benefits
Fast Batch Changeover
Minimal downtime between batches
Batch Size Flexibility
Utilise various container volumes on a single blender
Enhanced Product Integrity
Closed-container blending helps reduce product exposure and contamination risk; containment depends on the complete process and specified connections.
Technical Description
Pharmaceutical IBC blending
The Hanningfield Uni-Blend blends powders by gently tumbling an intermediate bulk container (IBC) or drum. Blending in the container allows charging and discharging to take place offline, helping to reduce changeover time between batches.
Select the blender around your powder and process. Batch mass, bulk density, working fill volume and container geometry should be considered together; nominal IBC volume alone does not establish a suitable batch size.
Choose the installation format
Uni-Blend can be supplied as a pedestal (stand-alone), through-the-wall or post-hoist-mounted blender. Discuss available floor space, ceiling height, container handling and access for cleaning when selecting the arrangement.
For a step-by-step specification checklist, read our pharmaceutical IBC blender selection guide.
Specify your blending requirements
Tell us the minimum and maximum batch mass, powder bulk density, IBC dimensions, existing container fleet and required batches per shift. Include your cleaning method, containment objectives and any site-specific safety requirements.
Define blend-uniformity acceptance criteria and a sampling plan for your formulation. Blending time, speed and working fill should be established for the material and process; a standard cycle cannot guarantee the same result for every powder.
Controls can be supplied to meet 21 CFR Part 11 requirements. Specify the required electronic records, access controls and documentation with your project team.
Connect blending to the wider process
