
During 2022, Hanningfield are thrilled to be celebrating our 35th year in business.
Our family-owned business has proudly designed, manufactured, supplied and installed machinery for the handling, processing and containment of powder in oral solid dosage (OSD) manufacturing of pharmaceuticals since our establishment. We produce the majority of equipment at our manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom and many of our staff have worked for our company for 20+ years. Hanningfield continues to proudly offer end-to-end powder processing equipment to our clients worldwide.
Being an independent, family-owned business has always given us the freedom and passion to deliver better products, ideas and service. We care about our long-term relationships with customers, suppliers and staff and feel this has been one of the contributing factors to our many years in business.
As the years have passed, we’ve grown from our small factory, employing only a handful of staff to supplying the most highly distinguished names in the pharmaceutical and allied industries. We were also honoured to have been recognised by HRH Queen Elizabeth II upon receiving the Queen’s Award for Business Export in 2018.
Hanningfield’s History
Established in 1987, Hanningfield still remains an independent family-owned business today. The name ‘Hanningfield’ comes from a small and beautiful village in Essex, UK where our first design office was located.
Hanningfield was founded in 1987 by Colin Ellis as a pharmaceutical project design and management company focusing on custom engineered solutions. Colin had been an engineer working at Smith and Nephew, May and Baker, before working at GSK Ware on one of the first multi-layer tablet production facility in the UK.
Over the years, we are fortunate to have employed many loyal and dedicated staff, who have been with us for decades. We moved to our most recent location in 2012 and Colin’s two sons, James and Alexander were appointed directors in 2013 and 2019 respectively. We are proud to be long-standing members of the Made in Britain organisation which recognises the very best in British manufacturing.
Alongside our UK headquarters, we now have three regional sales offices based in North America, Asia-Pacific and India. In addition to these sites, we are thrilled to have a team of talented and highly knowledgeable agents who represent us globally.
