Hanningfield: Renewed ATEX/Ex-Proof Certification

We are thrilled that Hanningfield has received a renewed certification which allows us to self-certify the Uni-Mill and Kwik-Sift for use in ATEX zone 0/20.

At Hanningfield, we are highly experienced at supplying ATEX / Ex-Proof compliant equipment to worldwide customers in various industries, including pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food and nuclear. The renewed certification means that we can self-certify the Uni-Mill (conical mill) and Kwik-Sift (centrifugal screening) models for use in ATEX zone 0/20.

ATEX and Ex-Proof classifications help manufacturers select and install equipment for potentially explosive atmospheres. The ATEX and Ex-Proof classifications are primarily concerned with the safety of plant operators and sets out the minimum requirements for improving the health and safety protection of workers potentially at risk from explosive atmospheres. 

The process environment and properties of any materials that will be present need to be ascertained. This is so the ignition risk of any gas and dust atmospheres can be classified and the appropriate preventative steps taken.

The certification was conducted by Element Materials Technology – a major global body in the TIC (Testing, Inspection and Certification) sector.
