Split butterfly valves consist of two parts; the active half and the passive half. Generally, the active half will be mated to the receiving vessel or process machine, with the passive half commonly mounted to the discharging drum or similar.
Technical Description
When the two halves of the butterfly mate, a single vane is created allowing powder to flow on the internal surface of each half; hence when the passive and active undock, the external face remains clean and is therefore safe to expose to the process environment.
This device is made as per cGMP and EHEDG rules, it is simple to clean, and suitable for CIP with proper equipment. The body and butterfly is made from stainless steel 1.4404.
The apparatus applicable each time when it is important to safeguard the security of the administrator and the nature of the item, such as dynamic substances, hormones, anti-toxins, injectables, dangerous items.
