Custom Made Pharmaceutical Machinery
With 30 years experience as a manufacturer of process machinery in the pharmaceutical industry, we recognise the importance of custom made solutions to overcome unique powder handling problems. Manufacturing plants evolve over time and, as a consequence, are often imperfectly configured. Accordingly, new equipment will need to be adapted to fit the existing process and within the required installation area.
We work closely with customers to understand their specific problem and design the most efficient and elegant solution. Our flexible approach to creating custom made equipment has resulted in us working with leading companies in the pharmaceutical and allied industries across the world.
To create bespoke designs, we use the latest SolidWorks and AutoCAD drawing packages, enabling the production of accurate 2D and 3D models. Our in-house manufacturing expertise include coded welding, fabrication, machining, polishing, assembly, electrical and testing. Hanningfield’s engineers consult with the customer throughout the project from design, to production, to delivery and installation.
Our experience in the pharmaceutical industry means we understand the quality standards expected in the hygienic process industries where GMP and FDA compliance is imperative. Hanningfield is ISO 9001 certified and can supply full 3.1 mill certificates for fabricated parts.
Often there are site specific standards; such as motor manufacturer, PLC supplier of interlock preference. Hanningfield is able to modify and adapt our standard designs to incorporate these specific customer requirements, including any geographic anomalies (e.g. electrics).
An ‘off-the-shelf’ solution may not exist, so we are able to fabricate a unique piece of equipment to fulfill the need. Custom made solutions have previously included stainless steel baffles, machined hosetails, fittings, moulded silicone parts, bespoke hoppers / containers and drum lids.
Uni-Mill Example: Highly Customised Conical Mill
The below video shows a modified conical mill with rotation/inversion feature – this allowed the machine housing to be turned onto its horizontal axis for placement into a downflow booth. This enabled the mill and inlet/outlet split valves to be disassembled in a safe and controlled fashion.
